Blissey is classified as a Supporter Pokémon, so, to help keep your teammates alive, you need to select the best items and moves for Blissey. Below you’ll find our recommendations for the best Blissey build and, if you’d like to know how it compares to other Pokémon, visit our Pokémon Unite tier list. On this page: One glance at Blissey’s stats and it’s clear this Pokémon was designed purely for support. This means, when playing as Blissey, your role is to heal allies to help them score as many goals as possible. You can still gather points and score goals yourself when possible, but avoid wandering off into the battlefield by yourself. Instead, stay close to either an Attacker, like Cinderace or Greninja, or an All-Rounder, such as Lucario or Machamp, to ensure you’re in the best place to support them. You’ll discover that your abilities will compliment each other - the Attacker or All-Rounder providing the offense Blissey lacks, while Blissey, being one of the best healers in the game, ensures they can fight for longer. Despite needing backup to reach its full potential, Blissey isn’t completely defenceless. It benefits from a high endurance stat and Blissey’s ability, Natural Cure, will remove any status condition affecting it - though this ability does have a cooldown. Still, like all Pokémon which evolve, you should make one of your early goals evolving Chansey into Blissey as quickly as possible. You’ll also want to reach Level 8 early on, so you can benefit from its complete moveset. To learn more about Blissey’s evolution line, visit the next section. When the match begins, you need to choose between Pound and Heal Pulse. We recommend starting the match with Pound, because it will supply you with the fire power you need to quickly level up in the opening minutes of the match. Thankfully, Chansey will automatically learn Heal Pulse at Level 2, so you don’t have to wait long to start providing support. At Level 4, you’ll have the option between Soft-Boiled and Safeguard. We recommend choosing Soft-Boiled, because, thanks to its automatic stacking ability, you can store multiple uses of this move. Coupled with its quick cooldown time, Soft-Boiled can easily allow you to rush in and save a teammate from near death. If you’re planning on using Blissey primarily as a healer, then this is an essential move. Upon reaching Level 6, you’ll have a choice between Egg Bomb and Helping Hand. We recommend selecting Helping Hand, because of how it buffs movement speed, basic attack speed and boosts any basic attacks for a short period of time. This means that, even though Blissey won’t have a main offense attack, it can still cause a good amount of damage. You should also try to ensure that you use this move with at least one teammate nearby, so they can benefit from the buffs. Finally, Blissey will gain access to its Unite Move - Bliss Assistance - at Level 8. In keeping with Blissey’s status as a Supporter Pokémon, the main person who benefits from this move will be one of your allies. For this reason, you must be very careful when performing this move, because you can easily miss your target. Ideally, you should use it when fighting Zapdos or when the opposing team is crowding one of your goals. It’s also a good idea to ensure Blissey has the majority of their health before unleashing this Unite Move, because you will take damage for whichever player you use it on. You don’t want to accidently knock yourself out! Thankfully, Bliss Assistance does provide you with one buff - Blissey will, for a short time, be able to dash about the battlefield and any opposing Pokémon it comes into contact with will be thrown. Try to hit as many opposing Pokémon as possible! Chansey will evolve into Blissey when you reach Level 4. Since you won’t be using Blissey to gather score points by defeating wild Pokémon, you run the risk of it being a harder Pokémon to level up. You can negate this, however, by giving it Exp. Share, which will increase its passive Exp. Point gain. This means you can focus on supporting your teammates, rather than gathering the required Exp. Points yourself. To combat Blissey’s low offence stat, we recommend selecting the Rocky Helmet. This item will provide passive damage to any opposing Pokémon which successfully attacks you, which is incredibly useful if you’re playing Blissey as pure support. Finally, for the third slot, we recommend the Focus Band, because, while you should be focusing on healing your teammates, you shouldn’t completely ignore your own health. This item will help keep Blissey alive for a little longer, so you can either heal yourself through a move or retreat to a safer location. The Slow Smoke, however, is another good option, because it will give you some small control over the battlefield by slowing down the opposing team. Like the Eject Button, it may give you the opportunity you need to save a teammate! Finally, you may want to experiment with the Fluffy Tail. While this item only works on wild Pokémon, it immobilizes your foe and increases your damage. This makes it a useful item in the opening stages of the match, because it will help you level up Chansey. Blissey’s Pokémon license costs either 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems. Enjoy playing as Blissey in Pokémon Unite!
